Hi, I'm Agus.
I'm from Tucumán, Argentina, and I've lived in Playa del Carmen for four years. I help independent hotels in the Riviera Maya sell what they already sell, better.
How I got into hospitality
I arrived in Mexico in December, alone, with a month booked at a hostel and no clear idea of where I was going. The first thing I did was look for a jiu-jitsu gym. The mats became my anchor and, without knowing it, the door to everything that came next.
There were tough seasons. I did motorbike deliveries and cleaned the mats so I could keep training. That's when a jiu-jitsu teammate offered me a job, paid for my revenue management training and brought me into his hotels in Tulum.
There I ran rates, the channel manager, OTAs and reservations from the inside. I learned how a price gets decided at eleven on a Tuesday night, how parity breaks without anyone noticing and how many bookings are lost to a WhatsApp answered too late.
What I saw
Hotels with a great product, good reviews and solid occupancy handing Booking.com and Expedia margin that could have stayed in-house. Overloaded owners with no time to check everything and no wish to hire three people for sales.
AgusHotelero exists for them: the revenue department those hotels don't have, run by someone who has done the work from the inside.
What guides me
Limits are in your head. I learned it on the mats and confirmed it arriving alone in a new country, knowing almost no one. I apply the same to hotels: facts before opinions, written processes and no promises that depend on luck.
Let's talk about your hotel
Tell me what's on your mind. If I can help, I'll tell you how. If not, I'll tell you that too. Meetings in English or Spanish.
